1) I don't think that's a female on the bike, it looks a lot like a dude with tools and such. But what do I know, arctic peoples often look ambiguous. (Siberians, Eskimos, Seals, etc)

2) There is nothing wrong with wearing shorts in the snow. I do. It's probably because he's a man and therefore not chilly in all temperatures under seventy five degrees. (like a certain other blanket hogging gender is, ahem ahem) We burn hotter because our manliness is powered by an internal man engine that uses a combination of nuclear energy, steam engines, and volcanic magma. Maybe TNT too, nobody really knows because everyone who's ever tried to study pure manliness has died tragic and mysterious, lumberjack linked deaths. Turns out scientists aren't manly enough under normal lab situations to handle it all, unless of course they are cartoon scientists, who always seem to turn out more bad-ass than the real thing.

3) You look like a teenager in pigtails and it's kind of weird. Well, not weird, but some other word that means the same thing but is less blunt.

I love these pics! And just an aside, I scanned through the DILO pictures and of all the coffee shots - yours most definitely reigned supreme - since it forced me to go make a pot to enjoy almost immediately!

The guy in the shorts--that's me! Or at least I'd like that to be me! I have lived on the Alabama/Florida Gulf Coast since birth, and I insist on wearing shorts and flip-flops all year! But even here, I can't do that (it's in the 30's outside right now)! If a leprechaun gave me three wishes, one of them might be imperviousness to cold!
That way I could visit New York and London for Christmas!

That second to last picture - of Dylan and J.B.? OMFG. Did he go through a major growth spurt in the recent past? Like Riley, I can now see what he is going to look like as teenager.

Great pics. Also, again, thanks for the oil-less turkey fryer tip. I ventured out to the Lowes on Rainier Avenue South and got the last two. Excellent.

I've been seeing the morons in shorts around town too. So crazy. This is my first winter in Seattle, and I know snow is generally a rarity around here, but geez, people...get some frickin' pants already!!

So I was actually commenting just to say I loooove "Diary of Indignities". I don't think I've ever laughed so hard at a book in my whole life. And the author is still blogging, although very infrequently, at his new site: http://domesticatedshithead.blogspot.com/

It's a bit different from the Diary of Indignities stuff, but still very funny. He's out of his mind...love it!

My god, we passed stir crazy about two days ago and now full blown cabin fever has set in. Thank god the neighbor kid is my son's age - they have been playing every day for two hours just so his parents and we can get some work done because we don't actually GO to work anymore. It just keeps snowing and snowing and Portland can't handle it. ACK!

Also, why is there always at least one jackass who wears shorts every single day? I grew up in Massachusetts and all through high-school and college there was always some joker who wore shorts every day, even when temps were near zero. I mean I understand having a high body temperature, but that jut suggests total lack of nerve endings in the legs (or in college more likely extreme inebriation at all hours - both equally depressing).

So. You pretty much have the cutest family on the Internet (aside from mine, of course).

Also. I'm pretty sure we have the exact same dishwasher. Why I noticed that, I HAVE NO IDEA.
