Some of you mentioned that the space above the bookshelf looks bare. I agree. But I’m not going to bother hanging anything there, because in a matter of weeks, someone else will be living in this house.
That’s the plan, anyway. The plan that I’ve been dying to tell you about, but couldn’t until now. The plan that came together in a rush of exciting new opportunities and downright terrifying decisions.
Two years ago we started working in earnest toward our goal of moving to Oregon. Two months ago I believed it wasn’t meant to be—that we’d done our best, but it was time to move on and stop dreaming.
Today? Well, shit, friends. Everything has changed.
JB has an amazing new job in Eugene that starts in May. Our house went on the market earlier this month and we got a solid offer two days later. We have a rental house in Eugene that looks like the perfect temporary location while we plan our next real estate step.
Soon everything is going to be so different, and oh, you guys. I’m so excited and nervous and I can hardly believe this is finally happening.

Totally updating my previous Blinc recommendation, because this mascara is the shit. Big crazylong lashes in one swoop. (Still: Blinc does go on better, and doesn't smear. It's just that Benefit's results are so much more dramatic.)

I've read all her books and I'm pretty sure this is my favorite. Haunting and fast-paced and all sorts of messed up.
Bix Sexy Hair
I don't know if I actually get BIG SEXY HAIR when I use this, but I do get a noticeable difference in volume and manageability. Great for adding some oomph to your roots.
BeneFit Stay Don't Stray
This is, I guess, a sort of primer for concealer, and it's aMAAAAzing. When I use it with my undereye concealer, I have zero creases and much better coverage. Also, this wee mini size lasts for-flipping-ever.
Tiny Beautiful Things, by Cheryl Strayed
Hands down the best thing I've read in a long, long, long time. Maybe years. Maybe ever.
Oribe Heat Styling Spray
Fantastic product that you use before you curl/flatiron for supershiny hold. I have no idea how it works, but it goes on really really sticky -- like almost waxy -- and then the heat tool makes your hair feel soft. (I curl, then finger-comb.)

You know the addictive awesomeness of Found, and the haunting freakiness of thinking about a zombie apocalypse? Put those hands together, as Joey from Friends would say.

I lived in Eugene for 6 years, moved away with my husband two years ago, and now we’re doing everything in our power to move back this summer. We miss it so much and want to raise our kids there. I’m so curious about the area of town you’re moving to and where JB will be working! I also spent summers in North Bend growing up so it’s always fun for me to read about those visits. Aw, I am happy and a little wistful at the same time. After emailing/tweeting/blogging you for the past 6 years, I’d always hoped that maybe we’d run into each other on a bike ride or some other Seattle-area event. Of course you’ll continue to travel and so will I and we yet may get together someday. Eugene is a great bicycling town so I’m sure you and your Trek will be hitting the paths once you’re settled in!
