Hey, if I had an MP3 file I wanted to post on here for you guys to download, and it was…um, totally legal for me to do so and not violating any musical digital rights type laws or anything, would that work? Or would more than two people downloading a 6 MB file hose my entire website? I feel stupendously clueless on this front.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha HAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Yes, this is what passes for entertainment in my house. What can I say, we’re party animals.

http://www.radioblogclub.com/ allows you to post a link to a song right into your journal – people can listen to it but they can’t download.

And thanks for the congrats! I love the photo comparison up there! Here’s…. RILEY!

If you are running your site from a commercial hosting company, you should be fine. There are two main things to care about: peak load and bandwidth. Peak load from a 6 MB file is unlikely to be high enough for a commercial host to even notice. If the monthly bandwidth on your account it’s reasonably high – my host gives me 200 GB of transfer per month – then you shouldn’t need to worry. Even if your allowance were only half that, you would still have enough bandwidth for the file to be downloaded 17,000 times per month.

If you are hosting your site at home, then it might be a slightly different story. You can always put it up and see what happens. If things go blooey you can just pull the file.

    Did I just say “blooey”?

You need to save that picture for Riley’s “Senior Tribute” in his senior yearbook!! :)

I want to laugh at the photo comparison, but I’m so distracted by the adorable, duck-downy, snorfle-it-up hair on that beautiful head! You are such a lucky mama!

How is it that boys are able to sit like that? My son does this all the time and it amazes the heck out of me.

No. No way. No comparison. That movie still gives me nightmares. Don’t compare my little Riley with that monster. Even if the set of their mouths and the twinkle in their eyes is IDENTICAL!

Oh my God, that picture is priceless.

Re: Mp3s, I don’t know. I do know that Paige (www.flux-rad.com) does it with a fair amount of regularity, but that might be because she has a huge hosting account that houses Swoon, I don’t know. I do know that she’s very responsive to email and is a doll in general.

That’s funny! Now I don’t feel so bad about posting a comparison of my daughter’s photo with Nick Nolte’s mug shot.

Chaos was brought down upon the family by both Riley and Johnny… So is Johnny in the running for the name for number two? Or would that be too creepy?

  13. Caitlin on February 2nd, 2007 7:43 am

Oh jeez that is the best Riley picture ever!! Heh, very artful covering of the baby junk with the baby belly Mr. modest-and-crazy McGee :)

Anything that makes me laugh this hard so early in the morning requires delurking. Love it.

I don’t know anything about MP3’s. But I needed a good hard laugh today… and those photos did it. Happy Friday! :)

Dog sitting the cute golden retriever Murphy (house also has hot tub! yay!) I love this dog and he is delight to take care of! So, probably to the dog park if it is sunny, because the dog park is so dang entertaining. Funny little dogs everywhere.

Not sure what Saturday holds, but the options are exciting. Probably some brunch, with friends

And Super Bowl watching on Sunday at a friends with some yummy food. The rather non-athletic crowd of boys will be playing touch football before hand, which I may skip since I don’t trust their cordination skills. And I don’t want to mess the knee up again after just now getting back in to the fitness swing of things. (knee surgery to replace ACL and fix my meniscus wasn’t bad, it was the 2 months of being on crutches and not being able to do anything by myself that sucked!)

Saturday Jr and I will be Scouting for Food for Cub Scouts. Sunday I teach sunday school, than later that night Children’s Choir. In between? Lots of nothing, hopefully.
