Forgive me for yet another progressive series of photos depicting my youngest child in the midst of some charming-only-to-me milestone, and rest assured it is highly unlikely I will ever foist a bunch of goopy foodface images on you again, but I can’t help myself, this cracks me up. Behold, Dylan is introduced to a small amount of rice cereal and pears:

So cute! But how can Dylan be eating rice cereal? He was just BORN YESTERDAY! Right?

  3. Kristi on August 9th, 2008 9:18 pm

So. Damn. Cute! I absolutely love the faces – and the added “comments”.

  4. mandy on August 9th, 2008 9:18 pm

I KNOW, how’d he grow so freakin fast??

These are hilarious photos, I love them!

  5. Undomestic Diva on August 9th, 2008 9:44 pm

    My kids still do those faces when I feed them dinner… and they’re 5, 3 & 2.

    Very cute.

  6. Trina on August 9th, 2008 9:52 pm

Awesome! How many pictures did you take while feeding him to get those faces or were you just super lucky? I can never fully capture the moment like that.

  7. Angella on August 9th, 2008 9:53 pm

OK Linda. You win for the CUTEST BABY EVER.

Just don’t tell my kids, mmmkay?

  8. pammie on August 9th, 2008 9:58 pm

Delurking to say keep those milestone pix coming! This is adorable, and I have to say I absolutely LOVED the rolling over sequence. I have a 10-week-old and these make me look forward to his milestones even more.

  9. Danielle-lee on August 9th, 2008 10:01 pm

Oh, his FACE! I want to eat him all up in big hefty bites! he is so freakin’ cute!

  10. Mel on August 9th, 2008 10:30 pm

  11. Heather on August 9th, 2008 10:35 pm

The expressions on his face are too much! I laughed so hard I had tears rolling down my cheeks!!

  12. Lesley on August 9th, 2008 10:55 pm

Totally awesome photos. If ads featured imagery like this everyone would watch and buy cartons of rice cereal toooooooo!

  13. Kari on August 9th, 2008 11:34 pm

Take a long look at picture 3. You can see your youngest son as a teenager.

Okay, so I peed a little I was laughing so hard. Not that that is difficult to do lately but still, you get the idea.

  16. april on August 10th, 2008 5:09 am

poor little love! that is just pitiful! (But highly amusing!) ;)

  21. Clueless but Hopeful Mama on August 10th, 2008 6:17 am

Love the pics. Keep them coming! These completely brought back those first couple feedings of solid food. Zoe would make the strangest faces like this just was all too freaky.

  22. jen on August 10th, 2008 7:09 am

he looks JUST like you here. i mean, not facial expressions or anything. ;p

  23. warcrygirl on August 10th, 2008 7:37 am

HAHAHA! It’s like pictures really are worth a thousand words, only these words would be covered with cereal.

  24. bouncy czech on August 10th, 2008 8:14 am

    what a rollercoaster of emotions!

  25. Matt on August 10th, 2008 9:12 am

Huge LOL at pic #3. I’ve had that look on my face post-McDonald’s plenty of times..:-)

  26. Jamie S. on August 10th, 2008 9:44 am

I had to go back and look at the pics of Riley’s first bite of cereal…

    Very funny

  27. JudithNYC on August 10th, 2008 10:28 am

Keep on foisting those photos. Sometimes they make-a me laugh, sometimes they make-a me cry.* Today I laughed so hard I think I broke something.

  28. Maris on August 10th, 2008 11:02 am

He is SO adorable. He should be in baby food commercials!

  29. thejunebug on August 10th, 2008 1:31 pm

You’re not alone, Linda – those pictures cracked me up, too. ;)

  30. Lesley on August 10th, 2008 3:07 pm

Ok, I came back to look at these again. So hard to pick a favourite but I think number 7 is just over the top hilarious.

  31. willikat on August 10th, 2008 4:13 pm

hilarious!!! we come here for the things you consider milestones, so foist away.

  32. rick on August 10th, 2008 7:49 pm

    You’re killin’ me, as usual.
    Great pics, great captions.

  33. Pete on August 10th, 2008 9:41 pm

If you ever tasted the Rice Cereal you would understand the face. I would put a couple of drops of pancake syrup in the cereal, something about a spoonful of suger make the medicine go down.

  34. Heather on August 11th, 2008 4:44 am

Love the “you’ve got to be kidding me” look on his face in almost half of them. No need for sign language or verbal skills to pick up on what he’s saying!

  35. Melissa on August 11th, 2008 4:54 am

Love these pics! It’s so funny how all food has such an intense taste for babies at first. Reminds me of my daughter eating bananas for the first time. Like she had just sucked on a lemon or something! LOL :)

  36. Melanie on August 11th, 2008 5:35 am

Absolutely adorable. L…O…V…E the hair! He’s gonna break some hearts, and thankfully I’m North of the border so my girls are safe! ;-)

  37. Pocklock on August 11th, 2008 5:48 am

That’s hilarious! My niece had a similar reaction to cereal and apples!

    He’s such a cutie.

  38. nonsoccermom on August 11th, 2008 6:48 am

    HEE!! Too precious!

  39. Val on August 11th, 2008 7:45 am

Too funny. In a week or two, you probably won’t be able to shovel it in fast enough!

  40. Maura on August 11th, 2008 8:23 am

Too cute! Love the pictures, especially rolling over and “little gorilla” sitting up. I told my husband I wanted to special order kids as cute as yours.

  41. Julie on August 11th, 2008 9:32 am

    That is hilarious!

  42. Rebecca (Bearca) on August 11th, 2008 9:58 am

So cute. Let me ask you – is he embracing cereal after the first few times? My baby (same age) could not care ANY LESS. I keep offering it, and she keeps spitting it out. Guess I’ll just keep trying…

  43. Amy on August 11th, 2008 12:41 pm

Ohmyholyhell……..HE IS ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE! I love the photo series that you do. It’s almost like being there. And there is nothing more fun than those first-taste faces kids make. except maybe the look when they go under water and weren’t quite expecting it!

  44. Chris on August 11th, 2008 1:46 pm

    how absolutely adorable.

  45. Jennifer on August 11th, 2008 2:49 pm

The look on Dylan’s face in that third picture is similar to the one my husband makes when I cook something healthy for supper. Dylan is MUCH cuter.

  46. Jennie C. on August 11th, 2008 3:17 pm

OK – if we want to make a competition out of it – I think this little fella might have been in worse trauma than Dylan.

  47. chraycee on August 11th, 2008 7:58 pm

So. Fricken. Cute. What a great series of pictures!

  48. Josh on August 12th, 2008 4:23 am

make sure to film it when you feed him a lemon. That never gets old.
