Thing the first:
Is anyone else watching that TMZ show on an embarrassingly regular basis? I am ashamed to admit how entertaining I am finding it. Like maybe even more so than my Us Weekly subscription. Shut up.
Thing the second:
Lots of people have asked me how Riley feels about having a little brother on the way. I think the answer is “fairly clueless”. I mean, we’ve talked about the Baby in Mama’s Belly etc etc blah, but I don’t think he really groks the whole concept yet. He doesn’t even seem to notice the mondo belly protuberance, although if he spies me changing my shirt he will announce to the entire world that “MAMA BEEBEES!” are on display.
Thing the third:
Can we play the What Are You Doing This Weekend game? My weekend is shaping up to be so boring (clean out old office, shovel wet dogshit out of the backyard, maybe get crazy and revive my 3-month-old DYI pedicure) I’m hoping to live vicariously through you. So tell me, what have you got planned?
Bonus thing the fourth:
Behold! The weirdest toes west of the Mississippi.
Eric has a soccer game at 10am on Saturday, other then that I’ll be trying to entertain him while Daddy gets some sleep before he has to go to work. If the weather is nice maybe we will go to the playground and if it’s not nice we are NOT going to the McDonalds playplace, gross.
Look at you, all cutely pregnant in your chic-ly decorated living room! Love your outfit.
This is our last weekend before baby #2 comes (planned c-section early Monday morning). I am both excited and terrified to be having another kid. So…. that means this weekend we’re cleaning the house, installing the carseat, making last minute preparations, etc. Holy shit, I can’t believe I’m having another baby.
My weekend is disturbingly like yours. I might throw a trip to the mall in there somewhere. Yes, I live in the fast lane.
Love the living room!!
Well perhaps when Riley and brother to be reach my 2 boys age it will unfold like mine. Tonight drive 14 year old to and from dance. Drive 13 year old to and from friends. Wake up tomorrow and drive 60 miles to watch 14 year old run 2 miles (takes 12 minutes) for track meet then drive home. Go to sports shop to order basketball uniform for 13 year old and to Dicks to get basketball sneakers. Turn in football equipment for 13 year old. Hockey practice for 14 year old on Sunday.
Start praying they don’t like sports! All in all I enjoy watching them particpate and don’t begrudge the committment.
Hoping to get some yoga in there for myself!
I’m in the middle of a living room reno. Current furniture is piled in the middle of the room covered in plastic so that I can paint the ceiling. New couch arrives tomorrow!!!! But in order to fit it in to my shoebox sized house my brother needs to pick up my couch castoff….I mean his fantastic “NEW” (to him) couch, chair and ottoman. So this weekend I will be covered in paint (both from ceiling and walls) and giggling wildly from all of the excitement. Who wants to help???
weekend will be–
live music at dive bar tonight, cooking and prepping for big big autumnal party tomorrow night, sunday will be recovering and leading a big old boot camp! woohoo! fall!
Tonight I am cooking for a fundraiser luncheon tomorrow. Tomorrow, I’ll be at the luncheon and then I’m taking my younger daughter to a movie while her older sister is away on retreat with the church. Sunday I hope to finish cleaning the dining room and rearranging the furniture. Nothing too exciting here either.
What are you talking about? Those are adorable toes!
He probably understands more than you realize. My daughter at 14 months understood enough to ask me recently when she saw my fat belly-babby? and point at my belly. I had the baby 8 months ago!
My husband works all day tomorrow until 9pm. I may take the kids to the park.
Sunday, we are going to church in the morning and then meeting a builder in the evening to pick out a home site! Exciting stuff. I will be probably trolling the area Saturday actually to pick it out myself.
Monday-is my 30th, so my husband had better have something awesome planned! I hope anyway. He won’t cave and give me any information. I hate surprises. I guess if it sans kids, that will be enough.
You are quite the camo family!
We’re finishing more projects around the house with The Project… should keep us all fairly busy. And we’ve made our baby the 2nd official, too… whoot!

Paintballing with my kids. Work on the house.
My weekend will probably be comprised of carting a 9 week old baby boy around with us for errands and watching a disgusting amount of football. Somewhere in there, I promised myself a pedicure, darn it.
I’ve got no plans, really. My husband is on strike so the only excitement we have planned is for him to picket Saturday night and church Sunday morning. Big blast. Can I come and paint? Happy birthday, Mandy!
Flying off to the UK for some climbing/hill-walking/scrambling/pub crawling and the Kendal Mountain Film Festival the following week. Oh, and then there’s that 10th wedding anniversary thing.
I’m going through all the joys of selling a house in a buyer’s market. JOY.
I also might go grocery shopping. If I get really wild, I might go see a movie at the budget theatre. My life, it is teh R0Xx0rZ!!!
Oh yes, I found the TMZ show a few months ago and me too me too I am so shameful but LOVE it. I like all the weird little commentaries from the staff. Some of the stuff they pitch as story is hilarious.
This weekend I am going to garage sales and/or Craigslist things to buy for my sisters kids consignment store- which is SO awesome because I get to do all the thrift hunting for cute cheap things but 1. do not have to find room for it or have kids to fit it and 2. it’s not my money!
We are also having our first dinner guests in our new (not unpacked and messy as hell) house. Am making lasagna. Oh, and my bro-in-law is flying in to town and will be packing the aforementioned consignment goodies back to his wife/my sister.
I also was going to get an IUD but I totally should NOT have googled it because I chicken shizzled out and just cancelled my appointment. Sigh. Now what..CONDOMS??? Third child?? My word.
Last minute girls trip down to Oregon Coast. A friend got the family cabin (for free!) this weekend and amamzingly 4 of us can go, eat good food, read trashy magazines and have general fun. Aside from the 4 hour drive it should be awesome!!
I should be staying home doing stuff around the house and the like, but this sounded way more fun!
Oh, and isn’t that Sundry’s new Family room in the picture? The one that was part of the giant remodel? I do like your paint choices and couch!
I have not yet watched TMZ TV but it makes me upset because I read TMZ every day and now instead of just posting all the news, sometimes they have teasers saying that you have to watch TMZ TV if you want to find out the full story. But I can’t watch TMZ TV at work and I can read TMZ.com at work, so this is highly inconvenient for me.
We’re meeting with two DJs in an attempt to move forward with blasted wedding planning this weekend. And also having dinner with a couple of friends. And maybe seeing a movie. And sleeping. A lot.
This weekend I need to do some really dichotomous shopping, for truck tires and a floor-length evening gown. (The first for uh, my truck, and the second for a charity event for work).
I, too, will be shoveling dog shit, and then raking and mowing the lawn. The sexytime, it is now.
We will be leaving the munchkin at Opa and Omas house this weekend so we can:
1. Take Ranie out for a new photoshoot to build my pro portfolio.
2. Trim our trees in the back yard. Fun with a chainsaw!
3. Give Ranie time to do some design work on the computer.
4. Go out for a nice dinner and stay at a B&B overnight to celebrate our anniversary.
5. Prepare the house for Juliets 2nd Bday party on Sunday when we will be overrun by relatives we never see but who will swarm our home whenever the scent of free cake and icecream wafts to their homes. Leeches, everyone of them!
I’ve happened upon your blog and it entertains me to no end. Keep up the great work.
This weekend I’m headed to NYC for some R&R. And though I don’t have my own children to escape from- I live & work with many, so the rest is appreciated. Kudos to you moms and dads out there!
And hey, treat yourself to a pedicure. You deserve it!
Boy Feet! How cute!
This weekend? Well, if I get really really motivated, I may clean out my pantry and figure out how to kill those nasty flour moths that live there. If they morph into wool moths, I am done for! Protect my yarn stash, pleeze!
Other than that, I am going to try to write about 1000 words a day as a part of NaNoWriMo (national novel writing month) and knit on a pair of socks for my mom……
Our weekend will be low key. The boys(husband, child and dog) and I are going our property for the weekend. Remind me why I like this because I have to pack up everything and nto forget anything. then keep a preschooler busy in a 600ft cabin. Really it will be fun.
Poker tonight or tomorrow night. Perhaps if one of us is feeling brave, we’ll try to bring the baby back to Sears for photos. Hope to teach the toddler to stop whacking Mama in the head with his musical instruments.
tmz rocks! it’s such a guilty pleasure. my husband’s best friend got me hooked on it, so we watch it together over the phone. his friend is a big redneck larry-the-cable-guy-wannabe, and i’m sure no one would believe me if told them he squealed like a schoolgirl when britney spears does something especially stupid (which is daily.
this week-end we are putting up a gazebo in the backyard, hoping it will be handy for thanksgiving dinner. with our luck, it will be 30 degrees this year, instead of 80 degrees like last year.
Weekend get-away with Friends. I’m very excited to get out of town. Also, your new couch looks soooooo comfortable.
I’ve had a sinus and ear infection all week, so my weekend plans involve more of the lying on the couch and complaining about my had hurting variety. Perhaps we’ll get really ambitious and do some laundry. Such a shame, too, since Seattle is supposed to be so sunny this weekend!
Well its Saturday here. Last night I went for drinks at a friends house and we set fireworks off inside a traffic cone. Tonight I’m meant to be dressing like a zombie and then going out for dinner and a haunted house attraction, but I have band practise and I don’t know if I’ll be able to…also I went to the haunted house attraction on Halloween, and Nate can’t come, so I might just wait til he finishes work (hes stocktaking late) and go to a Guy Fawkes party. I want to dress up for Halloween but its not the type of party where I can wear one of my slutty costumes, so I think I’m gonna wear a blue dress, face makeup and go as Alice (Cooper) in Wonderland. And then tomorrow I have rehearsals for my baroque violin exam in two days. So I guess somewhere in all that, I’m going to do practise…
Things I’m doing this weekend:
1. Listening to a lot of hammering and sawing going on in my basement during the finishing process.
2. Trying to figure out how to pay for furnishings to put INTO the finished basement.
3. Probably scanning thru your Flickr pictures of YOUR paint colors while trying to decide what colors to paint the finished basement. Because all of your house looks awesome.
4. Lamely attempting a blog entry. I thought this blogging stuff seemed fun…but, eh, I seem to suck.
Shopping for new kitchen sink and faucet for new kitchen cabinets I will get in about 4-5 weeks! Yippee!!!! Also, picking up pull-ups and diapers for the monsters at CostCo whilst trying to keep myself from buying a Chocolate Cake and Tiramisu as well! And, trying to finish Education Tech and Psych classes on-line so that I might actually have a life soon! Realizing now I should have done the teacher certification 8 years ago when I first was a Senior in College! Duh!
Also, my son has the same toes as Riley! Love them to pieces!
I love the couch, where is it from?
1. Miss the husband who left this afternoon and won’t be back until Sunday night.
2. Go for a light hike with my best friend Saturday morning. We’re having fabulous Fall weather and it will be nice to hang outside.
3. Launder all the borrowed maternity clothes I’ve gotten so I have more than three functional outfits.
4. Clean the squalor that we are forced to live amongst. It’s easier with the hubby out of town, because then it will STAY CLEAN FOR AT LEAST A DAY!
5. Touching up my pedicure sounds like a good idea too. Thanks for the suggestion!
My son refuses to discuss our impending baby, so you are not alone. Sometimes he will whack my belly, when he’s walking by, and he looks surprised like ‘why the hell is that sticking out so far?’ but that’s it.
We are going to the Sprint store to get a new phone for my husband’s birthday present (he wants an iPhone but we’re locked into Sprint for the next 1000 years or something). Tomorrow night my MIL is coming up and we’re going to church and then out to dinner! By ourselves!
I am delurking to say that you look absolutely adorable, your living room looks amazing and comfie, and Riley’s toes are oh so cute.
This weekend, I am taking the in-house portion of my comprehensive exams on Saturday morning (I’m graduating from my masters program next month — whee!). After that, I am getting a 90-minute massage to both relax after exams and to help in the recovery effort from running the Marine Corps Marathon this past Sunday (whee, again!). Sunday will be spent working on the take-home portion of my exams. Not fun, but one last push before school is permanently over!
On Saturday we are going to tromp around the Botanical Gardens and/or Austin Nature Center (both in Zilker Park in Austin), then have crepes for lunch (http://www.fliphappycrepes.com/). Sunday we’re going to the Texas Book Festival (http://www.texasbookfestival.org/), especially to hear Mo Willems read from his new book (my 3 year old is a big fan of Knuffle Bunny, and the Pigeon series). Between outings: clean the house and shop for groceries!
This weekend, hmmm…it’s called “Chauffeur Matt around…” Friday…high school football sectional final game; Saturday at 6:00 a.m. swim meet until noon then drive, still wet, 2-1/2 hours to sing at a concert performance in a tux (love it, from speedo to tux in just a few hours), then home again so that on Sunday morning we can be at the swim meet at 6:00 a.m. until noon again and then sing again in the afternoon, although that gig is close to home. Supervise (if needed) homework and studying for finals week on Sunday night…what weekend???? Riley will be 15 sooner than you know…cuddle and snuggle a lot NOW…it is harder when they are 6 foot 3 inches tall and on the move constantly! Have a good one!
LOVE the new room! The colors are beautiful and the couch looks amazingly comfy and tres chic to boot. How do you like having a sectional? We’re looking for new FR stuff and I’m torn.
As for the weekend–we’ve got my 11 yo daughter’s soccer tournament for the days and three new Netflix for the nights (Knocked Up, Tenacious D Pick of Destiny and Blades of Glory) Hmm. Guess it’s obvious I need a laugh. Hope they deliver.
Awww, you look so cute! The pregnancy looks great on you.
I’m spending all of my Friday and a bit of Saturday on a bus to Saint Petersburg. The bigger part of Saturday and all of Sunday are going to be Pure Joy at meeting my friends.
Oh and forgot to add. The toes?? How incredibly cute can you get?? Is he snapping them? You know, like fingers? Caroline can do that. I’ll admit it freaks me out because I’m the only one in this house without prehensile toes so I never knew toes COULD do that.
I love the couch too, by the way, and love, love the Riley toes. Damn cute.
We are celebrating our anniversary (a few days late) on Saturday night and our little one is going to grandma’s…YES! Of course, we’ll miss her. But the night off will be priceless.
Have a good weekend!
I wrote a long post about all the shitty stuff that’s going on around here the last several days, and it was so depressing I just deleted it all. Short story – sick kids, sick dog, and tired, overstressed me. Where’s the Xanax? Here’s hoping that something wonderful will happen next week.
The husband is off to Portland to work on a house we own there; so I am single-parenting this weekend (oh, and doing copious amounts of laundry). To further show that I need to have my head examined, I’ll be having 2 more toddlers spend the night on Saturday to allow their parents to attend the Jim Gaffigan show. Wish me luck…
I’m going to ride my bike for 80-some miles tomorrow. The rest of the weekend will probably revolve around a heating pad and lots of whining about how much my thighs hurt.
I could just eat Riley’s cute little tootsies!
I have nothing planned for the weeked save tonight…I will be accompanying my dear mother to a holiday bazzar which seems rather stange being as it’s 80 degrees here in northern California today.
Tomorrow I’m going to *try* to clean the house. I always have a list of things to do and then come Monday morning I’ve maybe done one thing on the list lol. My mother is coming to steal her grandbaby so we will have some peace until Sunday afternoon. Then I am going to pick up Angelo and go up to visit my dad for a little while and hopefully be back in time for a peaceful evening that involves Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and lots of crying!
BTW, love the new family room,, the camo, AND the toes ;-)
A boring weekend. Pampered Chef party tomorrow and a Longaberger Basket Bingo thingy on Sunday. *sigh*
No help here. Already did Target and grocery store run. Having lunch with one of my favorite and long-lost sorority sisters tomorrow. Need to finish painting the fence my dad built for me in July.
But I am relieved to be at home after traveling for the last several weekends.
By the way, I also have the stacked toes. Mine are 4 and 5 (or no roast beef and wee wee wee) instead of 1 and 2. Riley’s are cuter.
I am sequestering myself in my house and getting lots of art making done. I even stocked up on food so I don’t have to leave. BTW, You totally match your living room, which is awesome. Also, you both are very pretty.
Getting up at 4:30 for training run (training for a marathon (crazy!!)), then friends are coming to stay with us from out of town! Yay!! We haven’t seen them since they moved and we are THRILLED.
Love the belly picture, by the way. :)
1. I’m canceling my OK subscription because I watch TMZ so much ~blush~
2. you look so cute!
3. I’m going to bake tomorrow to start stocking the freezer for the holidays. Sunday I’m going to take pictures of a friend and her family for their holiday cards.
4. OMG! he’s precious!
