I feel kind of bad for slagging JB about his Vegas trip and insinuating that he’s a heartless bastard who never gives me nice things, when in fact he’s a heartless bastard who sometimes gives me very nice things indeed (and not just Muhdik, JOSH) (PS: HAAAAA).

Those are two pretty pretty bracelets I got at Christmas, one with Riley’s birthstone (peridot) and one with Smalltopus’s (amethyst). Sure, that amethyst might end up being not quite 100% correct, depending on whether Small makes an earlier appearance, but no biggie. Before Riley was born JB gave me a lovely necklace with a sapphire for Riley’s September due date, then of course the boy went and arrived on the very last day of August, so we have a history of children screwing up their father’s thoughtful gemstone purchase. Somehow I have managed to deal with the burden of having a beautiful necklace with a funny backstory, so if STP ends up being a garnet baby, that’s okay.
(Although, memo to child: you are supposed to stay put a while longer, dammit, so Mama can have her much-looked-forward-to pre-baby spa day. Don’t make me show up in the hospital with chipped toenail polish, kid.)
In other news, I keep trying to come up with something other than OMG YOU GUYS I AM SOOOO PREGNANT to write about, but I can’t. Maybe because I look like THIS:
No more room for brain and thinky-type activities. All is Belly. Must do what Belly commands. Must . . . get . . . Haagen . . . Dazs.

Wow – that is one heck of a belly! You look amazing though, seriously – even if you were schlepping in sweats, you’d still look fantastic. I’m due in April and I’m starting to wonder how I’m going to handle the belly reaching that size, it’s already seeming unmanageable – HEE!
OMG, you look so good! Seriously, I had such big boobs through both pregnancies, I didn’t show until 5-6 months, and even then the boobs were almost as big as the belly! Your belly is so cute and you look great!
Here’s hoping Small stays put until Feb! But I do have to say that January babies are great! Mine waited until Jan 4 to show up, but he’s definately a keeper!
The bracelets are beautiful,and JB is the second best catch around (sorry my DH comes first!) Be glad that you can wear your bracelets together. Try as I might, I can’t find a way to make my kids’ birthstones go together in any pleasing way – Oldest is Opal (october), #2 is garnet (January), #3 is Pearl (June). And I can’t stand pearls, they’re for old ladies and sorority girls!
Ya know, it looks like that besides the baby bump, you’re pretty much still “you” shaped. The question is, do you look pregnant from behind, or does it just look like you have two basketballs stuffed under your shirt?
Listen, I have been there, I know how you feel right now–but you are totally a skinny girl with a big belly. I know you probably FEEL like you’re swollen and achey and all that last-trimester crap–but you look fantastic!
You are one of those pregnant women who don’t look pregnant from behind- and then you turn and shock everyone!
Also, that belly is SO GREAT. Seriously, you could have just put a basketball under your shirt for that picture, for all it’s perfect roundness…

As an August-born girl, I always hated peridot (spoken with a hard T when I was young) but now appreciate it. Pretty bracelets and I covet the peridot one.
What everyone else has said. The reason you look “so pregnant” is because the rest of you looks “so buff.” You got the arm definition AND calf definition going on.
What beautiful bracelets! And whether the stone is eventually amethyst or garnet, you score on both. Nice garnets are such a deep blood-red and you have to catch them just right with the light to see the red… sometimes they look black like onyx. Love ’em.
By the way, while you’re still allowed to eat ice cream with wild abandon, have you tried Ben & Jerry’s “Creme Brulee?”
