Do you believe in positive thought? I don’t know if I do. And if I do, I believe that it should be reserved for people who really need it. Me, I don’t fall into that category.
But here’s what I want to say anyway: I want something unlikely to happen. I want a series of events to take place, events I have little control over. I’m working very hard, but so much of it is up to chance. Our future has never looked so uncertain, in so many ways.
I am closing my eyes and clicking my heels. From here to there. Oh please.
If you’re the wishing sort, wish me luck. For now all I can tell you is that I am shooting for the goddamned stars.

I think this leap is a good thing. Whether you land well or not, whether you struggle or not, the LIVING is important, not just as a human ‘being’ but as a human LIVING makes a difference in the quality of their own life and in the lives they touch as well.
If you ‘fail’ (odd word that, because if you learn from something, it isn’t a failure at all), you still have the memory. And then you can do it again, only better!
Visualize it, believe it, work hard toward it. I’m seeing you all there right now!

I am a serial lurker but this is one post I HAVE to chime in on. What you have been going through lately has really played on my mind, I think you have articulated what so many of us think and feel on a daily basis. That desperate struggle between getting by and coping and making do, versus actually taking that immeasurable risk and daring to believe that we could have what we have only dreamed of. Dreams can come true! We worked hard for several years and our dream came true. We were finally able to buy a larger home out in the country so the kids would grow up with plenty of room to roam.

A series of seemingly unrelated events (some of them downright SHITTY) have led to a great thing happening to me recently. Without every single one of those crappy events, it wouldn’t have been possible to have come to where I am.
I hope all the fog & uncertainty & seemingly unrelated events are all conspiring to bring you something amazing, too. :)
And, FYI, that house is a carbon copy (add a giant rock & a river out back, though) of a friend’s old cottage. That place had a certain magic about it. You never know, dude. You never know in life.
