It’s Friday already! How is it Friday already? And holy cats, it’s a holiday weekend. Three whole days . . . at home with a cranky toddler. Wait, that’s not a fucking holiday.

My weekend plans include a visit from my aunt today (the contractors will also be pouring concrete and building the foundation on the remodel this afternoon, because I like to offer my houseguests both Diet Coke and a cacophony of earsplitting construction sounds when they visit—I think it’s just one of those little touches that makes one a good hostess, along with a good selection of Mystery Lube in the bathroom), the potential purchase of a sandbox (what have we BECOME?), and a search for a pedometer or runner’s watch type thing.

JB and I tore through the Battlestar Galactica miniseries and so we will also try and hunt down some more DVDs from Blockbuster because we can’t wait for Netflix; we are officially hooked, right through the bag. SO SAY WE ALL!

Other thrilling activities include finding Riley a new pair of Stride Rites (baby literally does need a new pair of shoes), patrolling the backyard for dogshit, and hoping for some excuse to wear this awesome dress I got yesterday (probably not while patrolling for dogshit).

Your turn! What are you up to this weekend?

We’re on our way to my parent’s house on the lake, once the issue gets put to bed (at work! magazine! not issues: those bastards are never done). Thank god we’ll be on the water, it’s f-ing hot here in Vermont. 90 degrees today! Jesus! Suddenly Summer!

Running a rather large fencing tournament & really hoping I don’t screw anything up. My husband is one of the referees, so he can’t run it this time. Trial by fire. Sunday and Monday I can spend studying, though, since I have a really big test coming up June 4. If I pass it I only have 2 more tests to pass and then I will have earned an MBA! Oh, and we’re still ironing out the details for the wedding celebration at the end of June. It’s fun, but a little bit hectic at the moment.

That’s a really cute dress!

Cute dress! We went away last weekend, so this weekend we will be at home–maybe taking the boys to the zoo, buying a new storm door, and coincidentally also looking for a sandbox.

That dress is really cute!

And this weekend I will be playing a lot of Sims 2, getting my brother-in-law to change my car’s oil for me, hanging out with the boyfriend, and on Monday I’m going with the boyfriend and a few friends to see the new Pirates movie! Savvy?

i too will be patrolling for dog shit, only it’ll be WAY more fun, cuz our grass is long and overgrown and our mower is broken. also, maybe, finally getting some flowers for the damn yard. i’m going to assume that after yesterday the snow is FINALLY done. probably crusing second hand stores , mocking ppl at the mall, and eating weird foods from teh chinese market with my kid- the usual friday. also, renting old movies that apparently everyone on the planet has seen except me (godfather, deerhunter, etc). hopefully dying my hair this weekend, if i’m not too lazy. and, um….nope. that’s it.

adorable dress, btw. i’m totally jealous.

We just moved to AZ, so we’re taking the long weekend to go to Tucson to a B&B – a little getaway before the baby arrives. I’m positive that I’m nuts trying to vacation less than two weeks before my due date, but we’re cramming in our ‘just the two of us time’ while we still can. Visiting Tombstone, Biosphere II and maybe a Spanish mission or two? Or just reading in an air conditioned room. Either sounds good to me.

Love the dress! Can’t wait for non-maternity wear.

First off, super cute dress! :)
Today after work I am meeting my friend Marlo in Garner to have my nails did….cause really, it’s been 2 weeks and I almost have a second set of nails growing off the first set…! Tomorrow I am probably going to go clean off my washer and dryer in my storage unit and pass it on to a newly wed couple to avoid visiting the laundromat any longer. After that I’m going to be making some yummy delicious potatoe concoction and a yummy chocolate chip pie to take to the church picnic sunday after church. After that picnic on Sunday, we are having some folks over to continue the festivities at our place with swimming and some good fun conversation. And then on monday I am helping to host a youth group pool party at some friends (ironically enough, their last name is “friend”.) house. I plan to totally and completely relax and not think about computer support or password resets or pissy nurses the entire weekend! :)

Aha! That dress is precisely why you should occasionally enjoy your boobs!

And thanks for the ages-ago earphone cord through the bra running trick; I tried it yesterday and it totally worked and I had to laugh, a little, about the great advice I’d gotten from a complete stranger.

This weekend (like every weekend) will be spent at the ball fields, but at least both of my girls’ (ages 8 and 15) tournaments are at the same place (first time ever!). Also, I am babysitting for a friend (7 y.o. girl) on Friday and Monday and am keeping two foster children for the whole weekend (girls ages 12 and 17). Whew! (I hope the kids don’t realize just how badly they have the adults outnumbered!)

Cute dress! I’ve been looking for a dress to wear to an upcoming wedding, and I found one on the EB site. So I guess I’ll be heading to the store this weekend to try it on.

Other than that, we’re gonna hit the beach and do some furniture shopping and some serious backyard grilling. And we’re gonna see 28 Weeks Later. Woo!

Cute dress! I need some summer clothes, as I am currently wearing a sweater because I didn’t have anything else.

We’ll be doing some clothes shopping for the little girl. All of her pants are too short. I’m going to a girls’ night at my friend’s house on Sunday where we will be watching chick flicks and eating junk food. We have nothing planned on Monday, and I kind of like it.

Driving (with toddler) to his great-grandmother’s house. About a 5 hour trip and we haven’t done that in a loooong time. Eek.

Once we get there, we’ll likely be running down the big hill in her backyard, eating bacon and eggs and chocolate chip cookies, and driving her to WalMart. :) Admit it, you’re jealous.

“SO SAY WE ALL” killed me! DH and I have been waiting for the finales of all our shows this past week (pathetic us!) so we can speed through the Tivo’d Galactica episodes. MANY episodes.

Enjoy that remodel.

Love the dress!

I will be enjoying my daughters’ dance recital (for my four-year-old this a very exciting first recital), and playing hostess to my husbands ENTIRE family (in town for the recital) while he builds a new shed in the back yard.

I’m off to Toronto for the weekend to visit one of my closest friends. Back in the day, we used to do girls’ weekends in Toronto (about a 3.5-hour drive), but now she lives there. And this is the first time I’ll be driving into Canada by myself. That’s scary. Border guards are so unpredictable—sometimes nice, sometimes indifferent, sometimes nasty. One time they asked us if we had any automatic weapons with us. What?!

Anyway, will be enjoying chick flicks, toenail painting, cocktails (mojitos are on the menu), lots of “girl talk,” and a night of dancing at a 25+ club (which is AWESOME since we are now much closer to 30 than 20 and we get very annoyed by all the 22-year-olds in insanely short skirts at the regular clubs).

This weekend we are going … to try to sleep.

We’re getting a nice sandbox from the http://www.step2.com site:
http://www.step2.com/sandandwater
The big toy stores have them in stock.

I like that it is raised, and I also like the umbrella to keep off the sun (especially bad around sandboxes because of the reflected light, so they get UV from above AND below) and the cover so neighborhood kitties don’t use it for a litter box.

I’m setting up the sandbox that came from Amazon yesterday for the gal. (Step2, sandbox only, about $65 shipped, great reviews– I don’t want a water table because of the mess and unavoidable mingling of sand in water parts and water in sand parts, which would get on my tidyness nerves).

We’re also working on painting the room that will be our master bedroom, which involves mixing cement-based drywall mud with paint and smearing it on the walls and then texturing it. The hope is that it looks like an old plaster wall, and not like a second grade art project. Let’s hope.

Probably, hamburgers and hot dogs with friends on Monday. I’d rather be shot than go near a lake or river on Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a drunken overcrowded hell out there– no thanks.

My husband and I are off to sunny Des Moines, Iowa, for a reunion of my mom’s side of the family. It’s always fun when we all get together (fun and LOUD, very very loud), and I’m looking forward to doing non-city things like barbecuing and driving.

Weekend? What is this “weekend” of which you speak? Actually, I do have a night off every two Fridays, but tomorrow isn’t it, so no sober karaoke for me. I will be working and sweating, alternately, and perhaps going to Saddam’s pool if the air isn’t too brown. I adore that I live on a base that has a pool.

It’s the Folklife Festival this weekend which is like Christmas to me. This time we’ll have a running toddler instead of a sleeping infant. I don’t know if that’s a good thing.

Rebecca

Folklife Festival for me too. A friend is doing some tango dancing in the Center House. And I’ll probably set the kid loose in that fountain thingy. Aside from that? The usual laundry, vacuum, celebrate my new job stuff. YEA! New job, in Redmond, no more travel over the bridge. Hallelujah.

That dress is awesome. I love the color.

We are buying a bird bath. For the same birds that like to sit right outside my window in the morning and screech. I don’t know why I’m indulging them; maybe I’m hoping a renegade squirrel will drown them or something.

We had an awful time last weekend when my husband and our 16-mth old daughter fell down a flight of stairs. We spent most of the day in the ER as the little one had a concussion. Luckily the CAT scan came out normal and she’s seems to be recovering well.

This weekend I’m gonna watch her play in her sandbox that we set up yesterday. We got ours from Toys r us, you should check it out.

My boyfriend, best friend and I are escaping the very cold weather of San Francisco to head up to Lake Tahoe. We’ll be reading books outside, taking the boat out on the lake, sleeping in, I’ll probably do some baking. I might have to indulge the man and hit up a casino for some blackjack. It’s going to be awesome! I can’t wait!

My weekend actually started Thursday, because I quit my job. I start a new one on Tuesday, it comes with a lot more money. Go me! Anyway, I went out for Thirsty Thursday night at the bar, same as every week. My friends and I officially have a cumbersome ammount of people show up. We’re going to have to get there earlier to arrange tables and steal extra chairs. Or maybe just reserve the entire dining area or something. But anyway, very fun. Today I slept it off, and am headed out for another night of partying with my friends. Saturday is laundry day, and hot date evening. I’m pretty siked about that. Also I need to work on my car, take legal action against my previous employer to recieve two weeks pay they are stealing, and … that’s about it. Oh, also, I had this super cute chick from England create a YouTube account just so she could get in contact with me! She’s going to be my new e-buddy. Unfortunately she’s got terminal liver failure and the doctors say she has two years left before she croaks. Maybe I can save enough for a trip to England before then and give her some strange. You know, in a charitible sort of way.

I love that dress. I might need one for myself.

Weekend consists of wedding shower/BBQ on Saturday, cookout on Sunday for guys that are old friends of my husband and NOTHING on Monday. Monday, needless to say, will be my favorite day. Ever.

P.S. I will also be scooping poop from my backyard. It is never ending.

We are planting flowers. Well, buying them first, then planting. And hosting a BBQ (kinda spur- decided about 2 hours ago). And I’m hoping to get some sleep. Sweet little baby Marin has kept me awake from about 3am on since last Friday. Every night her sweet little baby feet are kick, kick, kicking me. This is after she’s woken up, nursed me dry, and used her drooling charm to weasle her way into our bed. God I love that baby, but I swear if she doesn’t let me sleep I’m going to pitch a tent in the yard for myself and defrost some breastmilk for my hubby. Buenos Noches!

My husband is going on a camping trip to Canada (!!) with his friend, leaving on Sunday for four days, so Boyo and I are going to the beach all day Sunday and probably Monday, too. Saturday we have Boyo’s swimming lesson, and then to my mom’s to pick up camping gear for the husband and maybe mooch dinner and wash some clothes, as if I were still in college. I can’t wait for a place with a washing machine.

Tonight I saw Shrek the Third (as enjoyable as the first two.) Tomorrow I have a “date” with a five year old, and then am volunteering at the annual Boulder Creek Festival in the evening.

Sunday is Spring-giving! This past Thanksgiving kinda sucked for me and for a friend of mine, so we decided that when I moved back to Colorado (accomplished beginning of May) we would have a re-do. We have about 40 people coming over for a traditional Turkey Day dinner–am salivating already.

Monday, I’m headed to the afternoon Rockies baseball game, which is one of my favorite ways to pass an afternoon. So, lucky me.

A good, good weekend all the way around.

Old ass friend in town and we’re hitting Sasquatch as a last hurrah before I pop this kid out. At least I will be able to say to him that his parents were once cool. Ish.

Also watching the Cal v. UW baseball game on Sunday. My cousin pitches for Cal and I’m excited to see him play. Monday will be spent duly goofing the fuck off.

We’re going to do lots of laying about and reading, and maybe some movie-watching if we’re feeling really frisky. It’s hot as balls down here, and I have a soft cast on, as I tore my plantar fascia running (for the love of God, if you have flat feet, get thee some insoles or orthotics, stat!), which means not only do I look supersexy, but I can’t swim or do anything remotely summertime festive, dammit.

My in-laws are in town so we are having dinner with them, etc. Tomorrow is my husband’s birthday but I have already given him his present (an “I HATE YOUR KIDS” t-shirt from Gawker Media). In the midst of all of this I will, of course, also be on dog poop patrol, because the moment we clear the lawn of dog poop, the dog starts to panic-digest his breakfast because “OMG! We can’t leave the lawn unadorned like that! I have to get out and POOP”.

I just got home from a couple days in the Hamptons (which really isn’t as much fun as I thought it would be). Today I went to a BBQ and lusted after the man I can’t have and tomorrow I work. Its been one helluva weekend already. Swap maybe? I like babies/toddlers. You deal with my love angst and I’ll take your son for a weekend.
