How do you spell relief?

I’m pleased to report that JB made it home from the great outdoors not much worse for wear, with only some residual kielbasa off-gassing and a layer of filth under his fingernails that seems impervious to all available manmade cleaning products. Dog has chunks of pitch all over her fur and a palpable air of disappointment that she has been taken from her dream of living in the woods near a swimmable lake and returned to a Boring Suburban Backyard with only the occasional trespassing raccoon to break up the monotony.

Me, I’m just relieved to have a little backup on toddler duty. Don’t get me wrong, I had a great time with Riley over the last couple days, it’s just that it was, ha ha, possibly the longest weekend of my entire life. I’m including that one time I got food poisoning, even, because at least then I could lie on the bathroom floor for five minutes without someone jumping on me yelling “MOMMYYYY!!” Man, when you start daydreaming about that awesome time when you turbo-barfed for 24 hours straight, you officially need a BREAK.

I heard it was a total sausagefest.

That sausagefest looks much more … uh, enjoyable than the sausagefest my husband regularly attends. He complains daily of the flopping weiners in the gym locker room. At least with JB, they had some other perks! LOL

I’m also surprised Dog doesn’t look interested in sausage in the 2nd photo, but I’m sure she had a great time.

Just a few more years and you can pack all of the sucubus shit and send him off to the sausage fest with JB to learn the ways of the man folk. And maybe there will even come a day when sedondopus goes along as well. I don’t believe we know yet if spawn II is sausage fest material.

Take it easy on JB though. I’m sure he’s really tired from all that complete freedom and what not. He may need to rest up in front of the TV before he jumps back into toddler duty. Perhaps with some hearty home cooked meals from his loving wife. (har har har, etc. I’m just yanking your chain)

hi, i just spent the last day reading most of your journal and i laughed so much and related to your adventures with baby. on a separate topic, have you seen the movie The Descent? i recommend that you rent it from netflix, i think you and your husband might enjoy seeing it after the little one goes to bed.
