In case you missed my update over here (I’m still snickering to myself over the title of that post, oh ho ho ho ho I kill me), the results from the ultrasound are as follows:

• Everything is normal
• Also, the fetus has a dong

We’re having another boy, and I’m so thrilled and excited and I’m surprised to find that I’m also a little sad over the girl we won’t have, but still: thrilled. Excited. The news is good.

Look, isn’t he adorable?

monday_scan.jpg

(Aw, who’s a little Skeletor monkey-head? Why, you are! Yes you are!)

I’m going to be the mother of two little boys, which is sort of amazing and crazy and wonderful. All day I’ve been thinking about how my life has unfurled in the last few years to reveal all these new experiences, and how grateful I am. For everything.

:::

New post at Milk and Cookies goes up tomorrow (Tuesday) morning, where I recommend popcorn, Brazilian music, and stinky hippie oil. Come visit!

Congrats!! I am due with my second girl and I was shocked when I reacted with dissapointment on finding out it was a girl. Months pass by and as the baby grows I don’t care anymore but still that initial reaction that I had startled me. Now get used to being asked the tiring question “Will you try again” from everyone!

In the end a healthy happy baby is what counts.

Awesome news! I have two boys, and the only thing they have in common is the appendage, really – they couldn’t be more different, so don’t assume you’ve got boys all figured out! When I see mothers with girls I sometimes wish I had a real-life doll of my own so I could fiddle with its hair and pick out Barbie outfits and stuff. Then they start with that high-pitched squealing or some saccharine my-little-ponyish obsession, and I’m happy with what I got =)

Congratulations! What fun to find out you’re having a boy! I can’t wait to hear what JB and Riley think of the news. This one looks like something special – he’s already blowing smoke rings in there.

Thanks for the update and the picture :)

There hasn’t been a girl-baby in my family in 17 years, and so at age 30, with no kids (or boyfriend, not that we are talking about that) all family members are glaring at me (GLARING) about producing a girl. Which makes me feel very glad that I live 900 miles from any other family member.

But who cares about that! Sundry Boy Numero Duo!!!!! Another Sweet Baby Suspicious!!!!! The innernets, they are overjoyed for y’all. I cannot wait for the first picture of Riley and Secontupus glaring suspiciously at each other:

Riley: “I was here first, homes. You’d best back the hells off.”
Secondopus: “I am small and squishy. You cannot resist me.”

Seriously, Linda, so glad everything is fine and healthy and well…ween-tastic.

Wow, it’s so startlingly clear. Gives you pause doesn’t it…

Dare I say he looks like Riley a little? I’m thinking shape of head, nose…it will be nice to be introduced to the little guy.

Aww, congrats! I had a feeling you would be having another boy…hopefully this one will be a little bit more mellow just so you don’t go over the edge with two challenging boys. ;)

I felt the same, its perfectly natural, the American dream, a boy a girl. I wanted a girl so bad I could taste it, and then I found out he had a dong…Actually I still want a girl, but not instead of my beautiful little boy who is more than I could have ever imagined. And my boys together, oh my, just too cute. When my older son falls down, and fakes inability to get up, and hollers help, Dylan does his 2 year old odd man walk, saying under his breath “bubby”, and goes and takes his hand and pulls him up. They are too cute.

Forgot to say I laughed and laughed over “Also, the fetus has a dong” and “Aw, who’s a little Skeletor monkey-head?”

I too am interested to know how his ultrasound photo compares to Riley’s. It’s a GREAT profile shot, and it gives me that “Riley” feeling.

When I found out my second was a boy, I was happy and sad. I’d made pro and con lists for girl vs boy, so I focused on my reasons for wanting a boy–but I had a longer list for girl.

One of my biggest “trying to imagine infinity” thoughts was “This will be a boy–but a boy who is not Robert.” It is totally fun and exciting.

Congratulations! I am the mother of two little boys (15 months and nearly 4 years) and it is the best thing ever. I too was a little sad after my ultrasound revealed we weren’t having the girl I just KNEW we’d have, but I quickly got over it. And now, watching my boys wrestle and beat each other up and laugh together I don’t think I would have wanted it any other way.

That is RAD. Honestly, there is something special about mothers of boys (and it’s not just that sometimes their houses smell like the locker room at a hockey rink). You guys are an adorable family and another boy just…fits. Perfectly. CONGRATULATIONS on your new Skeletor monkey-head!

When I first read “the fetus has a dong” I read it as “the fetus is a dog” LOL… ummmm yeahhhh I think I should go back to bed and start my day over. So CONGRATS Linda on both having another healthy baby boy, and most importantly, not having a dog. Although, then you wouldn’t have to “touch up” the ultrasound when you show it to JB mwhahaha

My niece has two little boys (7 & almost 3) and they are as different as night and day, but always playing together (and fighting!) I know they keep my niece hopping, but it’s so cute to watch them play cars together and farm the living room. They are really big into farming since they have a grandpa who is a farmer. They spend a great deal of time harvesting corn in the living room …

Two boys. Wow. Congrats!!! and uhm… Don’t fire the housekeeper. I have one rugrat and she’s a girly girl. (We took the Highlander approach to children: THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE) So, if you ever go into glitter and pink withdrawals, call me and I’ll ship mine over.

I actually had a dream last night that my family and I visited you and your kitchen was STILL under construction, you looked at me like I had 2 heads when I asked why the downstairs bathroom didn’t have a toilet in it, and Riley’s room was HUUUUGGGGEEEE – like 1,000 sq ft huge, covered with toys on every surface, multiple levels, with an enormous bed that you were so happy about from Ikea. It was an interesting dream to say the least.
I couldn’t wait to get to work today to find out what you’re having. Good thing Dog and Cat are estrogen monkeys… you’d be lost in all the testosterone.
Can’t wait to see the little boy!

AWWWWWW. Suctopus and his baby brother Skeletor! I imagine Riley will be exceedingly suspicious of the new monkey head in the house, but luckily he will recognize that he also has the SAME THING between his legs, therefore perhaps allaying his apprehension a bit. Or not, because who can ever predict a child’s reaction to something.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!
