If you’re enjoying some much-deserved downtime right about now, may I intrude upon your peace and quiet with a laborious blog questionnaire? I’m amused by the double question mark punctuation going on here. That must mean that the questions are REALLY important. I’m not sure what the combo in #37 indicates, though…

#2 is probably the only one of these that I can handle. This is heavy stuff to contemplate.

1. Something you did this year that you’ve never done? – Bought a house.
2. I don’t really make resolutions, but it was a goal to buy a house in 07. I definitely have goals for 08 (that sound really, really pretentious… I’m not I swear)
3. Did anyone give birth? – no

4. Did anyone die? – no, thank goodness
5. Canada… that’s a bit lame. I didn’t even get far into Canada.

6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007? – More diligent saving. Healthy body. A baby in my belly. The ushe.

7. What dates from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
April 28 – see number one. Buying a house was so exciting for us.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
- Broken record here, Buying a house.
9. What was your biggest failure?
- I’m perfect, I don’t fail. No, probably not being diligent enough about saving. There is no excuse for our not being better about this. Also, I gained back almost all of the weight I lost in 2006. That sucked.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury? – nope

11. What was the best thing you bought?
- house
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
- My dad retired from a large corporation. That was exciting.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
- my ridiculous former co-worker
14. Where did most of your money go?
- Mortgage, crap, lunches
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
- my new house. This is becoming redundant. Too much new house mentions.
16. What song will always remind you of 2007? -Gimme More by Britney Spears. And that makes me feel ashamed.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
 a) happier or sadder?
b) thinner or fatter?
c) richer or poorer?

a) Happier
b) fatter (damn it!)
c) Richer
18. What do you wish you’d done more of? – exercising, budgeting

19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
- sitting on my chubby ass
20. How did you spend Christmas?
- In eastern Washington with my Husbands family
21. Did you fall in love in 2007? – More and more everyday (please excuse the shmoopyness)
22. What was your favorite TV program?
- Oh man, I love my TV. Probably The Office
23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
- I don’t think so
24. What was the best book you read?

 – multi million dollar winnings
28. What was your favorite film of this year? – I don’t know… I loved Knocked Up and The Namesake.
 I like most movies.

- My lovely partner and husband
33. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
- Hmmmm, I don’t know. —-
34. What political issue stirred you the most?
- the presidential election. I’m so glad Dubbya’s reign is over, but I’m nervous for the democrats. Also, I know this wasn’t this year, but the amendments to state constitutions banning gay marriage. WTF?!? With divorce rates at 50% the argument about the “sanctity” of marriage doesn’t seem to hold much water for me.
35. Who did you miss?
- my best friend in New York.
36. Who was the best new person you met?
- My fun and fabulous new boss!
37. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007.

Posh Spice, go figure. And my never ending love of John Cusack. And Colin Firth.
34. What political issue stirred you the most?

The election. I have great stirings in me for the upcoming change (hopefully!)
35. Who did you miss?

So many
36. Who was the best new person you met?

Our neighbors
37. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007.

You really can plan and have all your goals happen
38. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
“There’s no combination of words
I could put on the back of a postcard
No song that I could sing
But I can try for your heart
Our dreams, and they are made out of real things
Like a, shoebox of photographs
With sepiatone loving
Love is the answer,
At least for most of the questions in my heart
Like why are we here? And where do we go?
And how come it’s so hard?
It’s not always easy and
Sometimes life can be deceiving
I’ll tell you one thing it’s always better when we’re together”
Better Together, Jack Johnson
