i love this entry.
my weekend was pretty disappointing. the most exciting thing i did was go for groceries and use the self-checkout. oh, and a sat at the pub by myself and watched a small east indian man consume his weight in beer. and i ate yam fries.
I took lots of photos of really cute kids, and a naked woman. Fun! Did lots of photo editing. :) YAY!
I should mention, the naked woman and the kids were two separate shoots.
Love Riley’s YAY at geocache find. Ditto for Dylan’s balancing YAY.
The lighting in the first picture is really beautiful.
Pretty cool pics, that geocaching is weird but seems fun. I’m sure you’re glad to have your man back in town.
We escaped on a gambling junket in Biloxi for our first kid-free weekend in two years. It was AWESOME. Now we’re back in kidville which is equally as awesome but much different.
Aw, happy family.
Wedding at the zoo, long & delicious nap, 40th bday party for a relative stranger, turkey on the grill plans dashed by a stubborn propane valve, mom’s stuffing recipe achieved. All around good times.
Great pictures, as usual! I especially love the one of Cat. For some reason, your pictures of Cat never fail to crack me up.
man, that little red head paired with the ruddy cheeks and the adorable grin just kills me. what a handsome little dude.
weekend:
– saw eagle eye in the theater. completely unbelievable, but still two thumbs-up if you ask me.
– started and finished twilight. despite the fact that i finished it in less than 24 hours, it really wasn’t that great, nor am i just dying to pick up the sequel.
– baked a cake and hit the mall with one of my favorite girlfriends.
– agonized and worried myself sick about a big project at work that i’m in charge of this week. everyone is positive that it will be great. everyone but me.
other than the agonizing, it was a great weekend. thanks for sharing the pictures from yours.
Hardly left the house. Got succulent clippings from a friend, planted succulents, cleaned studio in preparation for next drawing, went to the grocery store, watched debates, watched movies with my brother. Good weekend all in all.
Your boys are so cute, not that you don’t now that!
Friday night: hosted Bunco for my crazy group
Saturday: Farmer’s Market, checked on the sheetrocking of my new house, some shopping at Target, took the kids bowling.
Sunday: Packaged up corn on the cob for the freezer, took kids to a birthday party, went to new house and cleaned up the site, home for pizza & beer, now off to bed.
It was a beautiful day, wasn’t it? Glad you got out to enjoy it too!
ZOMG what great photos/captions!
Friday: watched the movie Feast of Love, which was surprisingly good, despite my objections when boyfriend initially suggested watching it.
Saturday: went down to the local bike rally taking place in my neck of the woods. Bikes, Blues, and BBQ, as it is called. Ate some BBQ and saw some bikes. You totally didn’t see that coming, right?
Today: Went into work (at a hotel) and waved goodbye to all the bikers checking out. Came home and took a lengthy three hour nap. Now I’m back at work to train the new night auditor. Sometimes being management really blows. Silver lining is the freshly baked donuts that will be delivered at 5am that I get first dibs on. Mwa ha ha.
Love the pics!
Seattle(area) Outlet Mall: Shopped
Perspective = Shifted, Inner Calm = Regained
Them be 2 cute kids. I love their hair – they both have identical widow’s peaks. What do you call it if boys have widow’s peaks? Widower’s peaks? They look so happy and loved.
I planted grass seeds into a plastic cup with C, who put it in the sun to “cook”. I went to the spa with my MIL for her birthday and watched some chick get married right by the pool. I welcomed Dexter back into my life tonight. It’s been too long!
Everyone in your whole family including you is just so freaking cute!
JB’s “great wall sunburn” is red indeed. Wonder if it will peel?
Spent most of the weekend working the stage crew for a community opera (Hansel and Gretel) which was put on by the Whatcom Symphony. And riding bicycle to/from the theatre in the GORGEOUS weather!!
Ahhh, you cut off his pretty hair! I think I’ll go cry now.
Shana, me too, I would never cut that gorgeous red hair, I love those red headed boys. Can’t help it.
Looks like a great time was had by all!
I spent the weekend in Durango celebrating my birthday, there were facials, massages, a train, and fall foliage like crazy. And I got a new pair of hiking boots! Stoked!
Dude, is Cat lying in a puddle of water? Looks like you had a great weekend. I’ve tried to take pics of my family like those and either my husband grumbles about the camera in his face (as opposed to say, in the bedroom? No?) and the kids see the camera and ham it up, ruining the moment I was trying to capture. How do you do it?
Tried – twice – to bath a seven-year-old with a new arm cast without getting it wet. Failed, twice. Fear doctor’s wrath today.
Football (watching) book (reading) donut (scarfing). Watched my husband compete in a military culinary competition and also bought new shoes.
I love cat’s face in that picture with Riley. Hee. I also adore your baby with a buzzcut.
I love that all the men in your house are sporting the buzz cut.
This weekend we wrangled our baby through the alleged “4 month wakeful phase.” Freakin’ sucks.
I love these photo’s…they are very warm…does that make sense???
Cute! Those are some precious kiddos you have there.
Seems like a great weekend. We had (yet another) birthday party to attend, hosted a BBQ with friends at our house on Saturday and played at a new park yesterday. I rode my new bike yesterday afternoon and it was awesome. Got some not so great news on Mission: make a baby on Saturday night, but for now we’re keepin’ on, keepin’ on.
On a related note, don’t you cut the boys’ hair yourself? How do you get them to sit still? I’ve been thinking about doing that for a while with Nugget, but he is so damn wiggly when we take him to get it cut that I’m afraid I’ll clip a huge gash in the back of his giant noggin…
So glad you had a good weekend! We too found a few geocaches in the south Idaho hills, saw the beautiful Aspen changing, and enjoyed a picnic on the tailgate of the truck in the woods. Great way to wear the two toddlers out!
And I LOVE Dylans buzz cut! Can you say NOM NOM NOM!
I planted two and found 5 geocaches this weekend. :D
Attended agonizingly long Karate tournament to watch my 7 yr old compete for a total of 10 minutes. Still fun…but what a long day!
Painfully shuffled visits from my divorced parents who HAD to come on the same day and CAN NOT be in the same house at the same time!
But most importantly…officially started my new job search. Surprising how gut wrenching it is just hitting send on an email! 3 sent out yesterday hopefully many more to follow. Have to get out of this place to save my sanity.
GAH! I am in mourning! All that cute slightly wild red hair GONE!
He does rock the buzz cut though!
Went to a baby shower and toured my brother-in-law’s brand new house which is being built. Not too exciting. Great Pics! Do you guys have any cool ones you want to share from JB’s hike of the Great Wall?
Great pictures!
Friday night- wind down, Saturday…rain, rain, rain, birthday party, rain, rain, rain. Sunday…more rain, trip to Old Navy, more rain, baths for the kids, clean, clean, clean, collapse on the couch.
Where did my weekend go?
OMG, Dylan’s hair is KILLING me. I can’t believe he has enough to buzz – Maddie is still a teeny baldy baby.
Weekend was great – watched my sister graduate basic training from afar, made final preparations for other sister’s wedding this weekend. First trip to pumpkin farm. Good times all around.
Friday 1:13 p.m. : enter small SUV with four relatives for a six hour car ride to GA
Friday 1:30 p.m.: Wonder if I could possibly hitchike the rest of the way just to getoutofthefreakingcarwiththesepeopleOHMYGOD.
Saturday: Spend lovely afternoon with family
Sunday 1 p.m,: Leaving GA, Return to aforementioned Hitchhiking Theory. That, or SOMEBODY’S riding on the roof rack.
Friday: prepared for Saturday trip
Saturday: long trip to and from daughter’s athletic event (enjoyed the event, though)
Sunday: cleaned house, buzz cut husband’s hair, miscellaneous but important household tasks completed, worked, collapsed
I want to eat your baby. I’m sorry.
Also, I am LOVING the intense disapproval of the book in the first photo. Your child would put the rabbits to SHAME.
Oh. My god.
Your boys are precious. Just precious.
I am so excited about ickle topsyturvy baby boy.
I so enjoy your photo recaps! I entertained the mother-in-law this weekend. Enough said.
Friday: watch movies at friend’s house
Saturday: DO NOTHING AT ALL. Watch more movies at own apartment.
Sunday: Hurt back by doing nothing. Go to Word on the Street Festival. Very little work accomplished. Go back to same friend’s house for Sunday Supper and more movies.
Very sweet photos.
We did TAXES. Yup.
Burst into tears about three times. Worked out (the arms are comin’ along). Saw family. Didn’t get much sleep.
I need a weekend from my weekend.
SWAPPED clothes with girlfriends
DELIVERED entire car-trunk-full to Goodwill
SCRUBBED two dirty doggies
DENTED my backlog of New Yorker magazines
LOUNGED outside while blowing nose (allergies!)
I keep wondering if Dylan looks like JB as a baby? Cute matching cammo pants on R and JB too.
You have the cutest boys!!! I miss my kids being that little.
DELIVERED nascar fantasy smackdown
BAKED Swistle’s ginger snap recipe
CRIED when I balanced my checkbook
FINISHED a good book
CLEANED my entire condo
PREPPED our tent for camping
AVOIDED Target, sadly
Hike: TAKEN
Dust: PLENTIFUL
Trampolines: BOUNCED UPON
Pre-trampoline cinnamon bun: NOT REGURGITATED, THANKFULLY
You forgot “Happy Family: Priceless”. :D
Your kids are adorable.
SURVIVED: 4 days of single-parenthood while my husband was on the beautiful west coast at a wedding.
Hey, is it my imagination or is JB taking the camera more than he used to, resulting in more shots of you? I seem to recall a time when all the shots were of other people because you were always the one taking pictures.
