Meet Callie:
We adopted her today from the Humane Society, and she is as sweet as can be.
I thought it might take her a while to warm up to us, but no. She’s super affectionate and mellow.
She’s pretty curious about exploring her new digs, though, which I suppose is to be expected.
I have been going back and forth to the Humane Society for weeks now, obsessing over various cats. I was worried about finding the right age—the shelters are filled with beautiful older cats, but I was concerned how a senior pet would adjust to a house filled with rambunctious noisy-ass children. Callie is 2, and she seems to be doing just fine so far.

I’m so happy for you. And her markings kill me. You can tell she’s confidant and has a wee bit of spunk. Hooray for adopting an adult. They are the best.

That is wonderful! I also got a ~2 year old calico cat from the Humane Society 7 years ago. One of the best decisions I’ve ever made. She’s mellow and snuggly and curled up on the couch with me as I type this.
She’s flipping ADORABLE. And those calicos are a bundle of personality! :)

I am allergic to dogs, but have 4 because my family is all allergic to cats, but I threaten my dogs all the time telling them I don’t even like dogs, I like cats! And I’m gonna trade you!

oh her wee splotched face! She’s the loveliest thing! oh to own a cat again! Sadly all my boys are super allergic, so I must sigh over sweet kitties from afar.
She’s gorgeous! She’s a brighter, more saturated version of my Samantha! Who we call Swishy because of her swish-swish tail when she walks. :3

AWw – Cats are awesome! Especially the affectionate ones, their personalities are so cool. I love my dogs dearly, but they’re not the same, a cat just *knows* they’re your equal. Has she tried to stop you typing on the macbook yet – by lying across your wrists? :) Can’t wait for more cat updates :)
She’s beautiful! If you find a way to keep her off the flat stove, let me know. Our cats routinely walk across it to get to the “good” window for squirrel watching. I am a wreck anytime the burners are on. I leave a pot or pan on the burner until they cool off, but it still freaks me out.

Awww what a cute kitty! Most of the cats I’ve had in my life have been strays about 3 or so years old and every one of them was so happy to have a home that they were the best cats! Congrats!

So pretty! My husband volunteers for PAWS in Lynnwood, and every couple of weeks he comes home looking hopeful, he’s met the perfect new kitty for our house. We already have two, and I think for now that’s enough. I’m so glad a sweet kitty found a good home with you!
