Some of you mentioned that the space above the bookshelf looks bare. I agree. But I’m not going to bother hanging anything there, because in a matter of weeks, someone else will be living in this house.
That’s the plan, anyway. The plan that I’ve been dying to tell you about, but couldn’t until now. The plan that came together in a rush of exciting new opportunities and downright terrifying decisions.
Two years ago we started working in earnest toward our goal of moving to Oregon. Two months ago I believed it wasn’t meant to be—that we’d done our best, but it was time to move on and stop dreaming.
Today? Well, shit, friends. Everything has changed.
JB has an amazing new job in Eugene that starts in May. Our house went on the market earlier this month and we got a solid offer two days later. We have a rental house in Eugene that looks like the perfect temporary location while we plan our next real estate step.
Soon everything is going to be so different, and oh, you guys. I’m so excited and nervous and I can hardly believe this is finally happening.
I am so happy for you and your family. I will miss your house, though; it always seemed so homey. But I am so excited to see where this new chapter lands you. I’m glad you guys stuck with your dream.
Holy cats! How exciting for you! Congratulations!

Congratulations! Eugene is my hometown and I love it so much, someday we hope to buy property near there. I am so excited to hear about you living your dream! You are moving at the perfect time of year too, you get to watch the traditional northwest glee at summertime finally coming, but down there it is always 5 to ten degrees warmer than Seattle!
Congratulations! I’m so happy for you guys!

HUGE EFFING CONGRATULATIONS!!! Looking back at your post from Aug 24 brought back a flood of memories, as I had read it aloud to my husband (we both cried b/c it echoed our exact feelings), and we have come so far – so glad you, JB & the boys will be starting your own journey!

Delurking to say I am so excited for you! I have been reading for years and silently rooting for your move. I lived in Eugene for 6 years, moved away with my husband two years ago, and now we’re doing everything in our power to move back this summer. We miss it so much and want to raise our kids there. I’m so curious about the area of town you’re moving to and where JB will be working! I also spent summers in North Bend growing up so it’s always fun for me to read about those visits. So happy for you that you’ll be closer to family!
Way to kick ass! So awesome to see all the dreams and hard work finally come together. You deserve it, enjoy every moment. Well, the actual packing and moving will suck balls, but enjoy the rest!
Beaming for you. Such a great reminder that sometimes as soon as you let go, it finds you.
This is AMAZING! Oh, I’m so, so happy for you guys. Best news ever.
Yay!! Glad it’s official! :) Let us know how we can help with the move, and when you’re ready, I’ll arrange some playdates, show you around town, whatever I can to ease the transition. Congrats you guys!
Yay! So happy for you and your family. I love hearing people’s dreams come true. Congratulations!!!
