First things first: this is a sponsored post. I didn’t get paid for what I’m about to share with you, but I did receive a gift certificate to purchase some clothes for my kids. Now, hopefully you know me well enough to believe that I wouldn’t recommend a business to you if I didn’t sincerely like them, but just so everything’s understood: I got some free shit. Well, the boys did. As if they appreciate it, the jelly-smearing ingrates.
So, have you heard of Tea? They seem like a very cool little company with a unique approach to children’s wear. Apparently each year their designers visit a different part of the world to find inspiration for a particular collection, so they end up creating kids’ clothes that evoke things like street graffiti in Barcelona and vintage Mexican coffee bags. In fact, everyone at Tea receives an annual allowance to use toward international travel, which is a little factoid that makes me like them even more and may or may not have caused me to eyeball their Careers page. (Damn you, lack of marketable skills!)
Tea sounds like a groovy workplace and all that, but what I really like is their clothes. I suspect parents of girls have a much easier time finding attractive outfits for their kids than I do, because I sure notice a lot of cute girl stuff when I’m poking around Target or Old Navy or wherever, but I swear that once your boy is out of the young toddler stage clothes really start to suck. Hard. I mean, okay, Riley loves all those awful merchandising tie-in shirts festooned with LEGO Star Wars Spiderman Looney Tunes Etc, and both my kids are perfectly fine with the ugly-colored sports-themed crap, but sometimes I just want to dress them in something that doesn’t make them look like that scene from Pulp Fiction. You know the one.
“Dorks. They look like a couple of dorks.”
Which is why I kind of fell in love with the Tea Collection boys clothes. Their girls’ outfits are quite nice as well, but can I get an amen for boyswear that not only isn’t hideous, it’s downright awesome? Plus, the prices are very decent—most of the shirts I picked out were around $13.00 or so.
Here’s Riley modeling a few of his new shirts:
I think his favorite is the orange diving tee, but mine is definitely the blue hoodie.
Dylan was less interested in being photographed, but here he’s sporting his new HORSE! shirt.
Hello, could this be more perfect for him? (I also got him this layered tee, because BULLSHIRT!)
Cute designs, seem like good quality, shipped in a timely manner, arrived in a nice package, placing a phone order was super easy and unusually pleasant, customer service was top notch. I am totally a new fan of Tea, and if you have kids to clothe I think you might like them too.
Tea would like to offer one of you lucky ducks a $75 gift certificate, so if you’d like a chance at the giveaway, go ahead and leave a comment (any comment is fine, just be sure and include your email address so I can get in touch if the random number thingamajigger picks you). I’ll post the winner . . . oh, let’s say by Monday morning, okay? The only bummer is that Tea doesn’t yet ship internationally (which is a bit ironic, don’t you think, Alanis?), so unfortunately this is limited to the U.S. for now.
Thanks for enduring all my clothing-related blather! I hope you have a great weekend coming up.
**Comments are now closed, and I’ll announce the winner in a separate post. Thanks for participating!**
My kid is drowning in clothes, but I have a baby shower for a friend coming up, and have been having a heck of a time finding things for little boys. This would be great!
Love it! Need me some cute toddler boy clothes.
cute stuff!
Adorable stuff! Thanks for the recommendation! I’m constantly in search of something that doesn’t have Mario on it!!
I completely agree about the lack of decent boys clothes. I’ll definitely check out Tea.
My 4 y.o. son would look great in some teawear! :) Would love to win, but will make a purchase if I don’t.
i have girls and a boy and yes, i agree, the girls are much better dressed-but what i save in boy clothes, we make up for in legos which is just fine with him! so if i win a GC, it will definitely go to buying those adorable tea dresses!! thanks!
Cute stuff!
Cute clothes- thanks!
Their stuff looks awesome. Count me in!
Thanks for the info on a new-to-me place to shop for my boy!
Sweeeeeet…TEA! (that’s for those of us in the south!)
Love Tea Collection! Especially for boys-even as toddler’s its hard to find cute–not cartoony–boys clothes.
I have a friend who has twin boys and I think she would LOVE this clothing line! If I won the gift certificate, I would totally give it to her. Love all the clothes your boys are wearing!
I’m with you on the discrepancy between boy and Girl clothes, although I do manage to find some very cute shirts at Gap. That hoodie is adorable. I will have to check out their website.
I’m in. And those are such great pics. Aren’t you enjoying the weather around here finally feeling like summer? (Knock on wood…)
Thanks for the chance to win! I’m so sick of everything for boys being either “skull and crossbones” or “skater dude.”
Well, the part about Pulp Fiction made me laugh out loud. I have to admit, my kid looks like that sometimes, but I’d rather have her in tea clothes.
P.S. Do you have Nordstrom Rack around you? Sometimes, I can get Tea clothes cheap there.
I HEAR YOU SO HARD on boy clothes ZOMG. Love the shirts the boys are wearing. Theo would love them all. Toss my hat in the ring.

I already LOVE Tea brand and my baby girl would love some outfits!
I am in the midst of tshirts with nothing but Star Wars Legos on them. TEA — save me!
I totally agree with the lack of boys stuff! I was just at Old Navy today and came away with a Batman T-Shirt on sale for my oldest. Blah!
They sure have some cute clothes!!
Lurve Tea. The problem we have is there is a place in town that sells a lot of Tea choices for girls but nothing for BIG boys, just the baby boys. BOO! Love the boy stuff!!!
I always end up with something from Tea when I boutique shop. And their stuff outlasts the children and their dirt covered shenanigans!
I love TEA clothing, and the principles behind their clothing. Their girl clothes are so good at looking girly without all being Bright! Pink!
I totally agree with the clothes for boys, they kinda suck a lot. Also, BULLSHIRT! made me laugh.
Love the shirts! :)
As a mom of 3 boys, I have to agree with you on the available clothes for boys! My horse loving two year old would also love that t-shirt…
I had never heard of Tea, until a friend gave my son a bag of her son’s hand-me-downs. My favorite outfit was from Tea. I hadn’t looked up the brand yet, but now seeing your post, I’m on it. Thanks!
Amen on the boys clothes. Football/trucks/dinosaurs. Blech. Would love some new fun clothes for little man.
Very very cute clothes! Love them!
You know what I hate even more than the cartoon character clothing for boys? The clothes for toddlers that have skulls and cross bones and skateboards etc. I have ordered from Tea before for my girls, I love their clothes and you can definitely tell that they are inspired by other cultures.
Preggers with boy #3, in need of cute, stylish clothes for them!Tea seems to offer that–Happiness!
Oh my, boys’ shirts that don’t have some rude saying on them? Pretty awesome.
I have two boys too. What I like best about Tea is even their lightweight shirts are durable – very toddler & hand-me-down friendly.
Love the idea of cute and original boys’ clothing. Sign me up Tea! Although I have to disagree about girls’ clothing–unless I want to dress my daughter in crap with the Bratz or Miley Cyrus all over it, or just totally inappropriate overtly sexual stuff–there ain’t much out there.
Talk about lot’s of comments. Hope you get a bump for all the activity on your blog. Looking forward to seeing your take on some women’s clothing deals. You are awesome!
Ooh, I’m going to have to see if they do newborn stuff. I have a friend who just had a baby girl.
I LOVE TEA!
Pick me!!
What, finding boys clothes is only going to get harder?!?! Already I’m having a hard time finding good stuff and my boy is only 13 months old!
Heck, I’d probably enter the contest even if it meant free ugly clothes!
Very cute clothes, my two boys could use something other than Target and Old Navy as well!
My parents got quite a bit of Tea stuff for our girls and it was my favorite. Hanna Andersson is nice quality, but I usually can’t figure out all the conflicting pattern stuff. Tea stuff is easy for mommy to coordinate and wears very nicely too, so I was able to use the stuff for 2 kids and it still looks pretty good.
cute stuff! never would have found them without this post. thanks!
I love Tea collection–all I need is a gift certificate so I can afford to buy some! And I will try to force myself to buy stuff for my son, instead of my daughter, because you are so right about the lack of options in cute boys clothes!
I am so excited FOR him about that horse shirt!
Non-stupid clothing for boys is always welcome here.
i love me some tea!!!
oh! i love tea! and i love that horse shirt, how perfect!
I agree 100% that parents of girls have the better deal. I love Riley’s pirate ship shirt!
