First things first: this is a sponsored post. I didn’t get paid for what I’m about to share with you, but I did receive a gift certificate to purchase some clothes for my kids. Now, hopefully you know me well enough to believe that I wouldn’t recommend a business to you if I didn’t sincerely like them, but just so everything’s understood: I got some free shit. Well, the boys did. As if they appreciate it, the jelly-smearing ingrates.
So, have you heard of Tea? They seem like a very cool little company with a unique approach to children’s wear. Apparently each year their designers visit a different part of the world to find inspiration for a particular collection, so they end up creating kids’ clothes that evoke things like street graffiti in Barcelona and vintage Mexican coffee bags. In fact, everyone at Tea receives an annual allowance to use toward international travel, which is a little factoid that makes me like them even more and may or may not have caused me to eyeball their Careers page. (Damn you, lack of marketable skills!)
Tea sounds like a groovy workplace and all that, but what I really like is their clothes. I suspect parents of girls have a much easier time finding attractive outfits for their kids than I do, because I sure notice a lot of cute girl stuff when I’m poking around Target or Old Navy or wherever, but I swear that once your boy is out of the young toddler stage clothes really start to suck. Hard. I mean, okay, Riley loves all those awful merchandising tie-in shirts festooned with LEGO Star Wars Spiderman Looney Tunes Etc, and both my kids are perfectly fine with the ugly-colored sports-themed crap, but sometimes I just want to dress them in something that doesn’t make them look like that scene from Pulp Fiction. You know the one.
“Dorks. They look like a couple of dorks.”
Which is why I kind of fell in love with the Tea Collection boys clothes. Their girls’ outfits are quite nice as well, but can I get an amen for boyswear that not only isn’t hideous, it’s downright awesome? Plus, the prices are very decent—most of the shirts I picked out were around $13.00 or so.
Here’s Riley modeling a few of his new shirts:
I think his favorite is the orange diving tee, but mine is definitely the blue hoodie.
Dylan was less interested in being photographed, but here he’s sporting his new HORSE! shirt.
Hello, could this be more perfect for him? (I also got him this layered tee, because BULLSHIRT!)
Cute designs, seem like good quality, shipped in a timely manner, arrived in a nice package, placing a phone order was super easy and unusually pleasant, customer service was top notch. I am totally a new fan of Tea, and if you have kids to clothe I think you might like them too.
Tea would like to offer one of you lucky ducks a $75 gift certificate, so if you’d like a chance at the giveaway, go ahead and leave a comment (any comment is fine, just be sure and include your email address so I can get in touch if the random number thingamajigger picks you). I’ll post the winner . . . oh, let’s say by Monday morning, okay? The only bummer is that Tea doesn’t yet ship internationally (which is a bit ironic, don’t you think, Alanis?), so unfortunately this is limited to the U.S. for now.
Thanks for enduring all my clothing-related blather! I hope you have a great weekend coming up.
**Comments are now closed, and I’ll announce the winner in a separate post. Thanks for participating!**
Love these clothes on the boys! They are adorable, as usual.
YES! Thanks for calling attention to a kids clothing company that DOESN’T SUCK! My son is 2.5, and I’m starting to feel like his options for cute clothes are dwindling more and more as he gets bigger. I’d love to win this gift card.
I had never heard of them, but I just took a look and oh MY some of the girl dresses are ADORABLE. (But I’d probably use it on back to school for the boy.)
Love that horse shirt!
Really cute stuff. Thanks for sharing!
Oooh! I love Tea! I’m always pushing the boys clothes on my friends.
It is seriously impossible to find cute boy stuff. I think my kid needs that horse t-shirt, too.
Oh and you forgot to mention that they have some very lovely clothes for women too! Not really cheap, but really nice. Looks like a great company.
Include me! We’re Tea Addicts around here. :)
I have a daughter and am due with a baby boy in September. I was just bemoaning how less fun it is to shop for boys’ clothes as I looked through the racks of blue things with baseballs and dinosaurs.
So true about boy clothes! Sign me up! Thanks!
I love Tea’s girl clothes!
Heck YES, I would love a gift certificate I could use on cute boy clothes!
that was the least obnoxious sponsored post i think i’ve ever read…. and i kinda want to work for Tea, too!!
but in the meantime, a gift certificate would be swell… my godson and goddaughter are both under the age of 4 and belong to my former roommate, who has been through more than just about anyone i know, and she and her hubby work super hard seven days a week just to put clothes on their backs.
i’d loooove to put those kiddos in some cute new duds just for fun and no one deserves it more!!
thanks for the idea, either way… if i don’t win the certificate, i know where i’ll be looking for Conner come Christmas! :)
Cute stuff! Consider me entered!
Love Tea Collection for our girl; haven’t even contemplated them for the boy, but these are too perfect.
Ooh, I love Tea clothes! They are so cute. I bought my daughter a dress from them a few months ago and she asks to wear her “pretty lellow dress” every. single. day. :)
okay, i don’t have kids, but i do eye the boys clothes, as i have two nephews. they usually end up in things with skulls on them which leads me to believe they might be pirates. i’m not sure.
Great timing – just starting the back to school shopping!
These clothes are adorable! I’d love to try them out!
I love Tea. I wish I could afford more of it. I stalk their website for sales.
Their clothes are gorgeous, no doubt. But here’s a tip for the girls clothes for people who have never bought them: they run thin. My oldest girl is rail thin; my other girl is thicker. The clothes are much more flattering on my oldest and they run true to her size (whereas she has to go down sizes in most brands). For my youngest, I buy up two to three sizes.
Very cute shirts – count me in for the prize drawing!
I love Tea! I usually buy their stuff on sale at Nordstroms. Thanks for the opportunity!
It really is tough to find cute boy clothes. Thanks for the tip, and the giveaway!
Wow. Look at how many comments you’ve generated! Guess that not only shows how many devoted fans you have, but also that we all like a chance to win free stuff!! I have two boys & can totally relate to your clothing-related blather. I love Tea’s “Hola!” shirt and polos and hoodies and the girl stuff … OMG. I had to stop looking, it was making me too jealous.
I’m commenting even though I live in Canada because if I win I can get the stuff shipped to my SIL in San Diego who I just happen to be visiting at the end of August! It’s like I was MEANT to win!
Love that blue hoodie.
ME! ME! ME! ME!
They are super cute. My 4 year old would love the horse shirt.
Watch the combox SOAR! These are extremely cute. (The boys are too!) yay for giveaways!
Super cute stuff and just in time for back to school
Not looking forward to putting my 5-year-old son in skull/skateboarding/other totally inappropriate for small children-themed clothing. This should help.
Those outfits are adorable! I could use some clothes money for my munchkins, haha. :)
Agreed on boys’ clothes. Sometimes I feel like the symbols and stuff might be gang signs or something — of which I am totally unaware. So then I’m stuck with stupid sports or character Ts. Lame.
Great giveaway, I LOVE their stuff. The hoodie and the horse shirt are cute. The boys look so grown up here!
So rad!
Love Tea (and the boys look awesome in their Tea) Have a boy and a girl – something for both.
SUPER cute stuff! I am in love with that HOLA shirt!
And I’m dying over the horse shirt for Dylan–too perfect!! Whenever I see anything HORSE I think of him.
I’ve never heard of them–thanks for the introduction and the chance to win! :)
The clothes are adorable! You are not kidding — it’s much easier to find cute clothes for girls than for boys, although it can sometimes be hard to find age-appropriate clothes for little girls, if you know what I mean.
BTW, apropos of nothing, if you watch So You Think You Can Dance…there’s a choreographer on there, Stacey Tookey, that I think looks so much like you. I do a double-take every time she’s on screen!
I have recently seen this pop up a few times in my internet travels. So glad to hear an opinion about them!
Awesome boys clothes? Sign me and Rhys up!
My daughter got a Tea dress as a gift. Loved it! Wouldn’t mind getting her some more of their great stuff.
Awesome. Love to find a company with decent boys clothes that I can afford!
I love the comparison to the Pulp Fiction “dork” scene! These clothes are super-cute and cool. Thanks for sharing and for the opportunity to win something for the kiddos.
Love Tea! Such a great company
That’s exactly how boys should dress. So cute!
Cute kids clothes that aren’t cutesy? Sounds awesome to me!
I used to dream about all the cute little outfits I’d dress my daughter in and while I’ve enjoyed doing so over the past 9 years, I have to say I’ve gotten a far bigger kick out picking out boy’s clothing for my 2 boys than I could have ever imagined. I will definitely have to check out their website – thanks for the tip!
