This weekend was wonderfully full: a 5K race on Saturday with Ashley, a long run on Sunday (my last double-digit outing before NOLA, can I get a hallelujah?), a lovely valentine from JB and the kids, large amounts of chocolate, a babysitter-powered night away from the house.

(We also saw The Wolfman and I wish like hell all of you had seen it too so I could go off about all the hilarious bits in it, especially when [REDACTED] choked himself at the end of a chain just like a cartoonishly stupid dog, or [REDACTED] ripped open his shirt like an aging WWF fighter, or at the end during what was surely supposed to be a touching scene [REDACTED] was reflected in [REDACTED'S] eyes and JB leaned over and hissed “Unfollow” in my ear.)

The best part, though, was the mild weather that showed up on Sunday afternoon. After months of being cooped up indoors, it was utterly magical.

The difference between a cold, rainy Sunday, and this? Epic. Come on, SPRING.

PS: Yes, Dylan’s pretty much bald. I left the house for two hours on Saturday morning and came back to that. Please also note the extreme, probably-fatal prunejob of the little tree to the right of Riley in the fifth photo; that’s what happened the last time I ran a 5K. It would seem JB either has some Unusual Issues, or needs a chore chart when I leave the house.

I love, love, love your boys. Almost as much as my own. Is that weird?

HA! Thanks for the warnings about The Wolfman, I did want to see it.

I am so jealous of your nice weather too :(

Spring cannot come soon enough. I think I’m starting to hallucinate these days. I’m practically batting away imaginary cobwebs as I long for sunshine and fresh air!

Wow..look at them, looking like full-on little boys, instead of toddlers. Especially the pic of Riley running…doesn’t that just scream “Caution: BOY CROSSING!!”

Loved the nice weather on Sunday, although I scorned it, preferring to wander about Ikea, alone with my husband, and buy new dishes. Best Valentine’s Day evah!

I saw the Wolfman! And I agree, those redacted bits were pretty funny. Making fun of the movie was the best part.

Had no real desire to see The Wolfman before your “review.” Now will probably not even rent it on DVD. Thanks Linda, for sparing me. Lovely pictures of all 3 of your boys, as usual. Glad you had such a good weather day.

When I first looked at the top photo I thought “oh my god is he doing a wheelie??”

I love it when we get random breaks in the crappy weather and get to go outside and play.

The weather was lovely wasn’t it?! How exciting that you have seriously gotten yourself trained for NOLA! You must feel pretty awesome right now.

I spent the day in Lake City (yum, DICKS!) and was tempted to drive the kids over the 520 bridge on our way home to Puyallup. Love the floating bridges. Fears of traffic in the s-curves and 167 deterred me.

That is indeed quite the “Pruning job” on the tree (if that stick coming up out of the ground is/was the tree trunk). Yeah, I think it’s fatal!

Your children are lovely, they’re so cute. I’m glad you’re all enjoying the outdoors.

Since we have more than 2 feet of snow burying everything here until April, I love to see your pictures of green! It DOES exist!
(And I though Riley was peeing behind the bush, which is what my son would have been doing at that age, so I completely missed the “pruning” tree.)

So tickled by JBs issues… it’s like he’s quietly demanding a chore list, lest Dog get a little too close next time you go for a long run. Also, jealous of your weather – I’m watching snow like white static outside my window today and knowing my 1 year old will be ready to really play outside this spring just makes the waiting even more unnerving.

Ha! When you said you went for a 5K race with Ashley, I was certain you meant Dog. But then I followed the link and decided that those pictures weren’t shot in Dog’s style…

Wow; you have green grass ….

  15. telegirl on February 16th, 2010 3:07 pm

JB’s insistence on completing chores you probably wouldn’t agree to is akin to a puppy pooping in your shoe while you are out. Just sayin’! :o)

I’m trying to just SHUT UP these thoughts, because spring is a long, LONG way from us (in Minnesota). HOWEVER, my entire body is longing for the smell of dirt, the taste of fresh summer produce, the being wrapped in humidity.

I guess longing is good for the soul, yes?

  17. Amy on February 19th, 2010 2:24 pm

Totally looks like Riley is having a male moment behind the bush! The first things my boys did when the sunshine released them from the house was go out and pee in the grass….WTF? The toilet isn’t good enough for you? Guess I’m just envious : )

The “prune job” is hilarious! Needed that! Chore chart seems a must!
